Absolutely – there are a variety of reasons why a shop might want more than one warehouse in EMDECS. A business might have more than one physical warehouse location and would like to reflect the unique stock-on-hand values for each location. Within a single physical warehouse, a business might want to partition the inventory to more than one ‘virtual’ warehouse in EMDECS – for example, some parts might be sold on consignment or relate to very specific circumstances and therefore be counted as being in a separate warehouse within the system.
Mobile repair vehicles can also be setup as a ‘warehouse’ to keep inventory parts in the mobile separate from the shop inventory.
